1. Formulate your own research topic for investigation in the area of Ethical Issues in Social Media Systems,
Access and Use. Your research problem statement must clearly state very early your areas of choice in terms
of the following broad areas: (1) the key ethical issue or issues; (2) whether investigation involves an aspect
of software engineering or information technology or information systems management; (3) the link between
(1) and (2) in your research problem; and (4) what your investigation seeks to establish.
2. Determine the tasks to be undertaken such that the tasks mirror the structure of the research problem’s
solution or deliverables. If you decide that the research problem to be investigated would suit the default
structure then you may want to adopt the following tasks:
a. Clearly state the research problem and its significance and emphasising the benefits of its
solution.
