Seventeenth Century Creative Allegory

Students will craft and analyze their own ORIGINAL creative allegories focused on a historical, political, or social issue that they consider important.

1. Identify the problem in the creative allegory and state the real problem that the allegory attempts to resolve. Make sure to clearly explain the historical, political, or social issue occurring in the allegory and analyze how the allegory represents the true issue at hand.
2. Explain who the characters in the allegory represent. Make sure to analyze how certain character choices represent corresponding people related to the real issue.
3. Describe how the allegory resolves the issue in the creative piece and analyze how the resolution from the allegory resolved the true issue or COULD resolve the true issue (if the issue has not been resolved).
