This project will require you to write the abstract, introduction (including 2 hypothesis) and literature review section of a research paper. The paper must include a review of 10 journal articles related to a psychological hypothesis you select. Journal articles must be current (within the last 10 years) and be from peer-reviewed journals. The completed paper must be 13 page typed paper (12-point font, double space, 1” margins on all sides) following APA style guidelines. The format should consist of:
A) A cover page: 1 page
1. Title
2. Author
3. Affiliation
B) Abstract page: 1 page
1. Statement of the issue
2. Brief research question and hypothesis
C) Introduction and Literature Review: 10 pages

2. 2- Summarize the past research; A narrative section discussing the hypothesis, article’s summary and analysis, and research conclusions.
3-Rationale for and overview of the proposed study
4- Research questions or hypotheses
The purpose of Section C is to:
A) describe the purpose of the study (b) place the study in the context of previous research on the topic (c) justify your hypotheses
Each paragraph of the introduction should bring the reader closer to understanding why the study was done and what hypotheses you are making. The first paragraph of the Introduction should introduce the general topic of study. Do not begin too generally, but do not begin too specifically either. Be sure to define any terms you are using that are specific to the field of study. Indicate your operation definitions. In subsequent paragraphs you should be building a case for your study. Explain what has been found in previous research on this topic, describe what gap exists in this literature, and explain how your study will fill the gap. Towards the end of your introduction, briefly review the justification for your hypotheses. Do not simply state your hypothesis and assume the reader will know why you are making them.
d) A references page: 1- 2 page
Your topic and 10 annotated references (Draft#1) will be due by week 5***
Annotated references (draft # 1) will include an article summary (discussing the hypothesis, methods, analysis, and research conclusions). A two paragraphs will suffice per article (See examples on BB literature review tab). Upon receiving feedback, you will convert your annotated references into a, “traditional paper format.” Please follow part C in the above section for the body of your literature review paper.
Before you turn your paper to me, you will be assigned a classmate two weeks prior and conduct a peer review (draft # 2). This portion will be worth 5%of your final grade. It is expected that you will provide your classmate with thorough corrections and suggestions using the review feature on Microsoft Word (under the Review tab, select “Track Changes” to add edits and “New Comment” to add comments). Upon completion, you will e-mail me your paper and the paper you reviewed with the corrections and suggestions. I will examine the peer feedback as well as provide you with my comments.
