Purpose : The goal of this assignment is for you to explain a technical paper from a primary scientific journal to a nonscientific audience. Your goal as the author of the paper is to clearly convey the science within the paper and its relevance to a general audience.
Rough Draft and Revision Meeting (20%)
Introduction (10%) – This section should be comprised of a description of the topic you are addressing and its significance to a general audience.
Discussion (25%) – What have the papers authors proposed and how did they research it, including the appropriate background for a general audience.
Evaluation (15%) – What is your opinion based on what you have read?
Conclusions (15%) – Recap and summarize.
Grammar/Spelling (10%)

Deductions – After the rubric has been applied, additional deductions may be assessed for such issues as incorrect length (too long/short), use of too much external material (even when properly cited), improper citations, adherence to editorial standards, execution of the assignment and so forth.
