In This Paper You Must …

• Create a working thesis or question to answer.
• Present a claim and support it
• Emphasize the importance of the claim
• Support your claim with at least eight sources – these may be primary or secondary sources
• Prove to the reader that your evidence is accurate, relevant, representative and adequate and supports your thesis
• Establish the credibility of sources used by explaining to the reader why the sources are qualified to be part of your paper
• Analyze and evaluate other writers’ ideas and words by interpreting, applying, analyzing synthesizing and evaluating them
• Include in-text notes and a works cited or references page with (8) eight sources (this page will not be counted toward page length).
• Assume the reader knows nothing about ideas related to your claim and supporting information, so define and describe possibly unfamiliar concepts.
• Provide copies of sources, and highlight those sources to show which information was used in your paper.
• Create a formal outline of what you plan to discuss in your research paper
