The attached Conflict Styles Inventory walks you through a series of scenarios offering
you
options for how you would address the situation. Decide your response, and then
analyze your
results for Preferred Style , and Recommended Style . After completing both
analyses, write
out your Journal Entry addressing the following:
1) Share the results of your Preferred Conflict Style analysis. Discuss whether the
results
surprised you, giving examples from your volunteer and work life whether these results
seem consistent or inconsistent.
2) Share the results of your Recommended Styles analysis. Do you agree with what
the
benchmark advice tells you Reflect how you might change your behavior in future if
that is what it is recommending you do.
3) These scenarios are based on someone acting in a community leadership capacity.
Based on your reading of Ch. 16 on conflict management skills, and your own work
experience, do you think that conflict management differ in the work place versus
community scenarios Write at least a full 4 5 sentence paragraph stating your opinion
on this matter, backing up your position with examples.
