Direction using all the knowledge that you have learned in Health Services Administration Program and classes like:  Organization & Leadership Behavior, Funding Health & Human Services, Health Care Information System, Management Principle, Health Services Management I, Long-term Care Management, Legal Aspect of Healthcare Administration, Logic and Reasoning, Performance Management. Please Answer the following question below using the knowledge that you gained in your Health Services Administration Program classes that you have taken.

Your finalized paper must be mechanically great with no errors in writing. Please proof read all your work before uploading the final product to me.

Your writing must demonstrate critical thinking/ analytical thinking and how it relate to some of the principle that you learned in your program and you must also apply some principle that you learn in the class mention above in a way that it show how you apply it to your practicum site where you work.

 

Journal #6 Question: RELATIONSHIPS/ CONNECTIONS

1. What are you learning about professional relationships? Look at the relationships between manager, supervisors, support staff, clients/customers and peers.  What skills are necessary to form health professional relationships? What are the consequences when relationships flounder?

2. What connections do you see between what you have been taught in the classroom and the work you are doing at your practicum?  What skills have you gained through your classroom experience?  Are there skills that you wish you were taught in the classroom with more specificity?

 

Journal #7 Question: COMMUNICATION

1. Consider one of your first tasks at your site.  What problems did you have that could have been resolved more easily had you and your supervisor better communicated?  What would you now do differently?  What have you observed in your placement about communication between, staff and their supervisors, managers and support staff and support staff among themselves? What do you see as the key to good communication?  What have you learned about the importance of communication in the work place?

 

 

 

Journal #8 Question: INITIATIVE

 

Showing Initiative in the workplace is a prime reason why people receive promotions, get raises and in the case of interns or practicum students, receive offers of full time employment.  Discuss both steps 1 and 2 below:

1. Describe actions that you have taken in your practicum that demonstrate your initiative.  Have you offered to do something above and beyond your normal duties?  Have you figured out a better way to do a common task?  Do you display an attitude of willingness to take on whatever is asked? How did your supervisor or co-workers respond to your effort?  …or…

 

1. If you have difficulty identifying ways in which you have shown initiative, you may instead describe the performance of a co-worker or supervisor in your workplace, which is a good example of a person who shows initiative and gives extra effort.  Provide details of situations in which you have observed that person’s initiative.

 

2. Given that you may only have been in this workplace a short time; can you identify some ways in which you can display initiative? Consider your attitude in approaching assignments as a well as extra things you could offer to do or suggestions on ways in which you might do your job more efficiently.
