\n1) A brief
\nintroduction intended to convey the subject of your paper, the nature of the news story you
\nchose, why you chose it (how it is of interest to you, or how it\u2019s important to everyone), and
\nits relevance to sociology (i.e. make sure to identify the sociological ideas you ll bring in). 2)
\nA description of the important themes and key details of the current event which your
\narticle reports, or what is actually occurring out there in the world; 3) A sociological
\nanalysis of the current event, (ideally, this should be the longest part of your paper) which
\ninterprets or explains the current event or issue in reference to the themes and concepts
\nfound in your textbook and our class lectures. In other words, make explicit the connection
\nbetween the particular current event and the more general ways sociologists explain similar
\nevents our world. Ask yourself: What does this current event mean in the bigger scheme of
\nsociety How might a sociologist explain it ; Finally, 4) provide a conclusion, which reflects
\nupon what you ve learned, or how sociology illuminates your current event 5) provide
