\nThe utility of the DSM has long been a subject of controversy and much heated debate. Many argue that the diagnostic categories are too limited, while others argue<\/p>\n
that the entire DSM promotes the continued stigma of mental illness. The proposed changes to the upcoming DSM-5, scheduled to publish in May 2013, may address and<\/p>\n
correct some of these problems; however, many in the mental health field have valid concerns.
