The pupil\u2019s literacy in terms of;
2.1 Written English the pupils\u2019 literacy became high.
2.2 Spoken English the pupils\u2019 fluency in English is quite low.<\/p>\n

The teacher\u2019s strategy in teaching mother tongue affects the pupils\u2019 achievement in English language.<\/p>\n

In learning language, the pupils use MTB-MLE to understand their lesson in English, in terms of translation and comprehension.

Scope and Delimitations of the Study
The study is limited to the perspectives of the primary grade teachers of Sto. Rosario Elementary School towards the effects of Filipino Mother Tongue to the fluency, comprehension and translation in both oral and written English of their primary grade pupils.\n<\/p>\n
