Both crisis and risk management deal with threats, but risk management deals with threats before the event occurs and crisis management deals with a threat as it unfolds or after the event occurs. Some of the types of crises can include natural phenomena, malfunctioning equipment, human error, confrontation (strikes, boycotts, etc.), malevolence (intentional efforts to harm a company), and flawed leadership.<\/p>\n<p>For this Case Assignment, you are to answer the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Explain the difference between risk and crisis management and the role of the National Response Framework and the National Incident Management System plays.<\/li>\n<li>Do you consider crisis management a part of risk management?\u00a0Justify your answer.<\/li>\n<li>Describe the types of crises faced by your organization today. In your opinion, which type is the most important to be prepared for and why?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Assignment Expectations<\/h3>\n<p>Properly cite the quotations that you use to support your statements. Use in-text references as needed to support your points.<\/p>\n<p>Length:\u00a0This Case Assignment should be at least 3 pages, not counting the title page and references.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>References: At least two references should be included from academic sources (e.g., peer-reviewed journal articles). Required readings are included. Quoted material should not exceed 10% of the total paper (since the focus of these assignments is critical thinking). Use your own words and build on the ideas of others.\u00a0\u00a0 When material is copied verbatim from external sources, it MUST be enclosed in quotes. The references should be cited within the text and also listed at the end of the assignment in the References section (preferably in APA format).<\/p>\n<p>Organization: Subheadings should be used to organize your paper according to question.<\/p>\n<p>Grammar and Spelling: While no points are deducted for minor errors, assignments are expected to adhere to standards guidelines of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence syntax.
