A job campaign consists of many tasks: writing a resume, finding potential employers, reviewing job openings, interviewing, receiving rejections, negotiating job offers, and making many decisions. The best place to start is with a goal or a career objective. It may be helpful to ask, \u201cWhat do I want to do?\u201d and \u201cWhere do I want to be?\u201d\u00a0 Hence, the goal of this assessment is to identify and craft your career objectives.<\/p>\n

Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Research about and create two career objectives, one long-term and one short-term (you decide what constitutes long and short for you), that are:\n
      \n
    1. Personal (i.e., they match your strengths and personal goals).
      \nIdentify who you are and what you want to be in a professional context.<\/li>\n
    2. Focus on your future career aspirations.<\/li>\n
    3. Indicate the skills you would require.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      For these objectives, remember that they are best written as action statements and not<\/u> full sentences with lots of description. The key is to get at the heart of what you want to accomplish.<\/p>\n

      1. Write up a report<\/u> (not an essay) that includes:\n
          \n
        1. An introduction<\/strong> that explains the career field of your interest and the possible position title you are seeking (e.g., accountant), plus the report objective statement.<\/li>\n
        2. A discussion<\/strong> section that includes:\n
            \n
          1. your two career objectives<\/strong> (one long-term and one short-term)<\/li>\n
          2. a brief but specific<\/em> plan<\/strong> of how you will achieve these objectives<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
