(100% equivalent to 1,500 words).<\/p>\n<p>Learning Outcomes<br \/>\nThis assessment meets the following learning outcomes:<br \/>\nLearning Outcomes:<br \/>\nOn completion of this unit you should be able to:<br \/>\nAssessment Criteria:<br \/>\nTo achieve the learning outcome you must demonstrate the ability to:<\/p>\n<p>1 Demonstrate the following knowledge and understanding<br \/>\n\u2022 Evaluate the key concepts underpinning your role during the administration of anaesthesia in oral\/maxillofacial surgery, obstetric interventions, and urgent, emergency and other non-scheduled surgery. On behalf of the patient, identify care that is appropriate to the patient&#8217;s needs. Design a culture of compassion and support for patients and their significant others in the anaesthetic room as part of the interprofessional team.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Review current practices in the clinical setting as related to anaesthetic care differentiating between excellent, evidence based perioperative patient care from care that is of poor standard. Identify a critical incident related to your anaesthetic practice as it pertains to trauma, non-scheduled, oral\/maxillofacial, obstetric, and paediatric surgery.<\/p>\n<p>2 Demonstrate the following skills and abilities<br \/>\n\u2022 Plan and implement evidence based anaesthetic care for patients undergoing oral\/maxillofacial surgery, obstetric interventions, and urgent, emergency and other non-scheduled surgery with the aim of enhancing service provision and patient safety. Design, illustrate, and critique a culture of compassion and support for patients and their significant others in the anaesthetic room as part of the interprofessional team.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Use a model of reflection and explore the possible impact of suboptimal quality patient care upon the perioperative patient.<br \/>\n\u2022 Use a variety of current and credible sources of information to inform your essay and strengthen your critique.<\/p>\n<p>Guidelines for this Assessment<\/p>\n<p>To pass assessment 1.0 you will need to meet the following:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Your essay should be fully referenced using the Harvard system \u2013 refer to the University referencing guidelines for full details<br \/>\n\u2022 Review current practices in the clinical setting as related to anaesthetic care differentiating between excellent, evidence based perioperative patient care from care that is of poor standard.
