{"id":427171,"date":"2018-09-28T21:36:06","date_gmt":"2018-09-28T21:36:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/acemystudy.com\/?p=4783"},"modified":"2018-10-24T08:42:08","modified_gmt":"2018-10-24T08:42:08","slug":"management-team-simulation-paper-leadership-and-team-simulation-analysis-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.benedictsol.com\/blogs\/management-team-simulation-paper-leadership-and-team-simulation-analysis-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Management Team Simulation Paper, Leadership and Team Simulation Analysis Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Leadership and Team Simulation Analysis<\/p>\n<p>In the workplace, working in teams is almost inevitable.\u00a0 Sometimes it is a small team working on a departmental project and sometimes it is a large cross-functional team working on a major organizational initiative.\u00a0 Whatever the situation, team members must learn to find a balance among each other\u2019s objectives and those of the project and organization.\u00a0 As such, you are to complete a leadership and team simulation and report your results and findings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You and your team members will come together and assign each other into one of 5 roles.\u00a0 These include: Leader, Physician, Photographer, Marathoner, and Environmentalist.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You will find a time to come together online (either in person or virtual) and complete the simulation from start to finish.\u00a0 There is a chat feature for you all to correspond in real time.\u00a0 That is what you should use to communicate, as a record will be kept for me to review.\u00a0 You should allow yourselves 2-3 hours to review all materials and complete the simulation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Leadership and Team Simulation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You must individually purchase and download the HBSP Leadership and Team Simulation: Everest, V3.\u00a0 This is available to you in your course download packet.\u00a0 For questions, you may email me or\u00a0\u00a0 They are not available 24 hours, so check the website for their hours of customer service.\u00a0\u00a0 Also, this is not for you to call and get hints or help in completing your assignment.\u00a0 It is for technical issues and general questions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Assignment \u2013 Leadership and Team Simulation Analysis Report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You are to submit a report of the results of your performance on the Leadership and Team Simulation.\u00a0 This report will include the following information \/ analyses:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>PART 1a \u2013 TEAM RESULTS \u2013<\/strong> <strong>The team leader will write this portion of the report.<\/strong>\u00a0 Detail an analysis of your team\u2019s results.\u00a0 Focus on the following information:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Were team goals achieved?<\/li>\n<li>Who made it to the summit? Who needed rescue and why?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>PART 1b \u2013 TEAM PROCESS \u2013 The team will collaborate on this portion of the report.<\/strong>\u00a0 Detail for me your team\u2019s strategic plan and processes for making key decisions. Consider the following:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How much time did you take to strategize before implementing?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Did you use the course resources in your strategic plan? If so, how?\u00a0 If not, why not?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What about your strategy worked best? What did not work out the way you thought it would?\u00a0 Why do you think that was the case?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What were strengths &amp; weaknesses of your team\u2019s process for making key decisions?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What did you do when people disagreed?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>PART 2 \u2013 INDIVIDUAL PERSPECTIVES \u2013 Each student on the team will write their own \u2018reflection analysis\u2019 for this portion of the report.\u00a0 <\/strong><em>It is meant to be an honest, single individual perspective of their experience participating in the simulation.\u00a0 While the leader or another individual (perhaps the observer) may edit an individual\u2019s submission for grammar, spelling, organization or professionalism in presentation, the individual providing their own section of the report must have the final say over the content and message being communicated to me.<\/em>\u00a0 <strong>Please write in the first person.<\/strong>\u00a0 This section will include the following information:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Student name and role<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What were your personal goals? Were they achieved?\u00a0 Why or why not?\u00a0 What were your main challenges to you achieving your personal goal?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How well did you balance trying to achieve your personal goal with working toward the team achieving its goal?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Was there anything you could have done better or differently to produce a better outcome for you and the team?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How well did your leader help or hinder both your and the team\u2019s ability to achieve their goals?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>PART 3 \u2013 LESSONS LEARNED \u2013 The team will collaborate on this portion of the report.<\/strong>\u00a0 Start by listing 3 distinct lessons learned regarding leadership and team process from completing the simulation.\u00a0 For each, detail what it means to learn these lessons and how you will take what you learned from completing the simulation toward making your next team situation more successful.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As you detail each of your team\u2019s 3 lessons, consider the following questions as references:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Did your team share information effectively to make decisions?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If team goals were not achieved, what could the team have done or what could certain individuals have done differently to achieve a better outcome?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If team goals were achieved, what changes might have been made to achieve a better outcome?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Might you have better used the course resources to evoke a better overall outcome? If so, how?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What information might have been of great use to you in realizing a better outcome?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When faced with a team leadership situation, how will you (collective) now better handle it as a result of these lessons learned? Be detailed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your report is to be submitted to the Canvas course site assignment by class time on the date according to the class schedule.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You are expected to use only course material (and your own experiences) as a resource for this assignment. I do NOT want you scouring the Internet for hints and tools.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You may consider course resources from other week\u2019s topics or chapters in your analysis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is recommended by Harvard Publishing that you use Firefox or Google Chrome as your browser.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is recommended by SJU that you use a PC and not a Mac<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>While you may work together virtually, you must do so synchronously and without stopping from start to finish.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure to separate each section out and answer each question and sub-question directly so I know that you have considered it in depth.
