Shipping Contracts<\/p>\n
Avanti Inc., based in South Bend, IN, manufactures automobiles and exports the finished vehicles to Europe. Avanti manufactures two models; the most popular model is a four-door sedan, and the other is a highly customizable sports coupe. Avanti contracts Great Lakes Inc. to ship its products to Europe. Great Lakes has a fleet of 10 multi-use shipping vessels, each with capacity for 2,000 vehicles.<\/p>\n

o Great Lakes is required to deliver shipments of coupes within five weeks of notification from Avanti that an order of coupes is ready for<\/p>\n
o Great Lakes dedicated the MV Gary from its fleet to shipping Avanti\u2019s coups for the term of the<\/p>\n
o Avanti may ship 250 to 2,000 coupes in a single request; however, shipping requests of coupes generally do not exceed 500 vehicles because of the higher cost and lower demand.<\/p>\n
o Great lakes has the option to use excess capacity to ship products of its other customers.<\/p>\n
o After notification from Avanti that coupes are ready to ship, Great Lakes determines when within the five-week period to ship the cars, as well as the shipping<\/p>\n
