The elements to examine include the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Is the story believable?<\/li>\n<li>Is the action complete?<\/li>\n<li>Does the action make sense according to the law of probability or necessity?<\/li>\n<li>Is the action serious?<\/li>\n<li>Does the action have a good cause-effect chain that increases complication and rising action?<\/li>\n<li>Is the story complex enough to hold the audience?s attention?<\/li>\n<li>Is there a clear universal theme?<\/li>\n<li>Is the plot unified?<\/li>\n<li>Does the story contain dramatic irony?<\/li>\n<li>Does the story contain an epiphany, or a sudden reversal of fortune?<\/li>\n<li>Is the hero or heroine a character with whom the audience can identify?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Limit your discussion to three or four principles that best illustrate Aristotle?s ideas.
