Genre Analysis. Select one of the speeches discussed in class, J.F Kennedy, and analyze it (5-7 pages) using the appropriate critical framework covered in the lectures. Your assignment must be submitted no later than the class period in which your speech is scheduled to be discussed.<\/p>\n

Rhetorical Event Analysis. Select a significant speech from one of the presidents discussed in class. The speech you select should be analyzed (5-7 pages) according to the generic framework and\/or speaker, message, audience, occasion model covered in the lectures. Assignment is due one week prior to the classroom discussion of the president who delivered the speech.<\/p>\n

Your grade on written word will be based on the scope and quality of your outside research and your ability to use that information to draw plausible conclusions. In addition, your work should demonstrate your ability to apply concepts covered in our text and class lecture discussions<\/p>\n
